Metalosis Maligna

.. Or "Too much Implants"

Some days ago I saw a fake documental video named "Metalosis Maligna". The video says about a new disease which occurs when a human have an implant. The metal construction starts to grow from human body like cordyceps, destroying the flesh, but letting the patient live.

That looks pretty creepy but then I thought: "It would be an apocalypse for a cyberpunk universe".
In my world of 2070 year every human (and non-human, except monsters) have a vital implants, the second blood-vascular system that allows to use dietary supplements and drugs and the main interface that allows to control other implants. What if this disease will appear in my world?
The result will be sad.
'cause no one can stand it, even the main hero.
Too much implants, Dex. Even your best doctors of your organization are useless.
